Notice that now there is a regular Sunday farmers market just outside the entrance to the main abbey church at Lesnes Abbey. That's brilliant! But did you known that “in 1387 a complaint was made to the Justice at Westminster that the Abbot of Lesnes Abbey was holding a market by the gate every Sunday, without the Kings licence. However, a jury acquitted the Abbot” and the market seems to have continued.
